How to Keep Your Microblading Looking Its Best

Figuring out how to know which brow service is right for you is no simple task. With so many great options out there, it can be hard to pinpoint the right fit.

But, if you’re like me, and have decided to invest in microblading, now’s the time to start doing your homework. Learning about the microblading healing process is important, but you’ll also want to find out how to keep your microblading looking its best once you’re completely healed.

Here’s everything you need to know about maintaining your microblading to ensure you’re getting all the bang for your buck.

Maintain Your Brows

First and foremost, you want to make sure you are doing everything in your power to maintain your brows. Keep up your microblading brow shape, regardless of the method you prefer. You can choose to tweeze, thread, or wax your brows. What’s important is staying along with your microblading shape and getting rid of any stragglers that can take away from your new enhanced look.

Protect Your Brows

Next, you’ll want to make sure you are protecting your brows from external factors that can affect the longevity of the pigment.

Use SPF

You should already be using an SPF on your face daily, even if you don’t spend extensive amounts of time outside. But, especially after microblading, SPF will be your best friend. Protecting your brows with SPF can help to slow down the natural process of the sun fading your microblading pigment.

Wear a Hat

Just like SPF will help protect you from the sun’s rays, a hat can also be quite helpful. For the times you know you’ll be in direct sunlight, throw on a hat to help keep your brows shaded.

Avoid Skincare with Active Ingredients

You’ll also want to be mindful of your skin care ingredients. If you can, try to avoid skincare with active ingredients like AHA's or BHA's that might lighten the pigment.

Brow Makeup

Here are a few helpful tips when it comes to your makeup regiment that will help

keep your microblading looking fresher for longer.

Remove Face Makeup From Your Brows

When applying makeup, remove any foundation or other face makeup that has gotten on your brows—wet a q-tip with water or micellar water for extra precision.

Throw on a Tinted Brow Gel

To help make your brows pop, use brow products like a tinted brow gel and concealer to define your brows under the bottom edge for a sculpted look. Not sure where to start? Check out my top 5 brow products to get you started.

Take Your Brows to the Next Level

Last, when you want to take your brows to the next level, you can add a brow lamination with a tint to enhance the microblading. Brow laminations are a great way to help preserve and maintain the longevity of your microblading treatment.
